March 3rd - Parent Appointments

Having a difficult time helping your student finalize their course selection for next year?  We’ve got you covered! On March 3rd parents can make an appointment with their student’s Counselor at the Lyman Student Services Office between the hours of 7:30 AM and 1:00 PM.  To sign up, visit (TBD).

March 12th - Elective Selection Deadline

This is the last day to submit your Elective Registration Google Form.  After this date your chances of getting your top choices decrease dramatically!

Many times students do not fill out the form because they believe they will be attending another school next year, whether it be due to a move or via a transfer.  PLEASE take our advice and Complete the form anyway!  If you move or transfer then no worries, your new school will have you select your courses, but sometimes plans fall through and students end up at Lyman and get stuck with courses they didn't choose!

May 27 - Course Change Deadline

This is the last day to submit any course change requests for the 26-27 school year.  The next opportunity to change a course won’t be until Orientation in August.

  • .5 credit of Personal Fitness and .5 credit of a PE Elective are required for graduation.  However, there are several different waivers that can allow students to exempt some or all of the PE requirement.

    1.  If you play two full seasons of an FHSAA sactioned sport for Lyman HS, regardless of level (Freshman, JV, Varsity) it will waive BOTH the Personal Fitness AND PE Elective requirement.

  • On March 13th you will receive an email to the email address listed in Skwyard from Lyman_Counselors@scps.k12.fl.us.  It will provide you with directions on how to view your preloaded academic core classes based on Lyman’s course progressions.  In this email, you will also receive a link to a Google Form to complete your elective choices.

**Please Note: The link for Engineering Magnet Students is different than non engineering students, so make sure you use the link YOU received in your email.

  • We recommend that you work with your current teachers and counselor to select appropriate course levels.  Your middle school will schedule you for an IEP or 504 Transition Meeting this Spring to udpate your student’s plan for high school.  A representive from Lyman will be in attendance at these meetings.

  • If you applied and have offiicially accepted a seat in the Lyman Engineering Academy Magnet Program through the School Assignment and Program Access department, then congratulations and welcome to this prestigious program.  On March 13th you will receive a registration email with directions on how to complete your course registration.  This link will be specific to Engineering students since their selections are different than non engineering students.  Engineering students will be automatically loaded into their 9th grade Engineering course called “Introduction to Engineering”.  This is the only required Engineering course for 9th grade.

  • If your student currently attends a Private, Charter, or Homeschool but lives in the Lyman zone or has been accepted to the Engineering Academy Magnet Program or Building Trades POE, you will need to complete a “Pre-Enrollment” process.  This window is currently open so we strongly encourage you to complete this process as soon as possible.  We will not be able to input your course selections until this process is complete.  Delay could result in not getting your first choice selections.

**You will not be able to view any preloaded core academics in Skyward.  You will instead select your own core academic courses in your google web form.  We recommend you work with your current counselor and teachers to get assistance with choosing classes.
