  • Lyman has developed course progressions based on years of research analyzing student grades, test scores, and results.  Our team used these progressions to place each student into their English, Math, Science, and Social Studies courses.

  • For some CTE programs (i.e. Early Childhood, Culinary etc), students who are currently in a class within that program may get priority, therefore you may have been placed into the next level if you earned a C or higher in your CTE course 1st semester of the current year.  If you Do Not wish to take the preloaded course, simply complete the Course Change Form under the Forms section of this webpage.

  • If you were preloaded into Intensive Reading for next year it means that you are in an Intensive Reading Course this year and your FAST PM3 from last May was below a level 3.  However, if you acheive a level 3 or above on your FAST ELA test this coming May 2026, Lyman will automatically take you out of the Intensive Reading class and place you in one of your alternate elective choices.  PLEASE make sure you have enough altenrates selected!!

  • The Decision to take Advanced Placement (AP) or Dual Enrollment courses is a personal decision based on your goals.  BOTH AP and DE have the potential to earn students college credit while in high school.  However, there are pros and cons to each program.  Ms. Scalione will hold a “Lunch & Learn” on March 4th during both A and B lunches to discuss these two programs.  There is no sign up, so just bring your lunch and your appetite to learn about AP and DE!

  • Many of our CTE courses MUST be started in 9th or 10th grade.  While in your Skyward Registration module, if you don’t see the level 1 of a course, for example Culinary 1, this means you are NOT eligible to take this course next year due to your grade level.  DO NOT sign up for Level 2 if you have not taken Level 1.  This will only cause you to miss out on another choice as you will be removed prior to the school year.
