2020 Graduation Information

Graduation Updates

  • Graduation Plan –  July 17, 2020 – 8:20pm 

  • Alternate Plan – July 18, 2020 – 8:20 am  

  • Location – Lyman High School – Carlton D. Henley Sports Complex  

  • Report Time – Lyman High School – Main Gym 6:30 pm 

  • Report Location – Students will be reporting to the Gym on Lyman’s campus prior to the event. 

  • Parking – There will be limited parking, so please try to carpool if possible. At this time we are trying to work on getting an offsite parking location close to school in order to help provide sufficient parking for students and families.  

  • Fees  
    Students who have already paid – A partial refund has been provided. 

    Still have not yet paid – There will be a reduction to the cost as a direct result of our change from the Addition Financial Arena at UCF. Graduation fees are still expected to be paid. The new graduation fee is $67.50. To pay your grad fees please click HERE

  • Refunds
    Grad Fees – A partial refund has already been provided. 

    Grad Bash – A full refund has been provided for this. 

  • Tickets – At this time we are working on determining how many tickets we have left over, so we can provide extra tickets to those who need it. 

  • Seating Arrangement – Graduates will be sitting in the visitor bleachers along with faculty and staff. Families will be sitting in the home bleachers. There will be additional seating available for family members in the auditorium.  

  • Stages – We will have 1 stage located on the fifty-yard line facing the home side closest to the track to allow maximum visibility for families to see students walk across and collect their diplomas.  

  • Cap & Gown Pickup –  Has already occured. If you need to pick up your materials and have already ordered from Herff Jones (prior to 5/20/2020), you can come to Student Services on Tuesday or Thursday from 10:00-2:00 pm. 

  • Debt/Obligations – We want to encourage all students to pay off their debt prior to graduation. We understand this may be a difficult time financially for our families. Please reach out to our graduation coordinators should you have any questions or concerns. 

  • Graduation Coordinators – Should you have questions regarding graduation please feel free to reach out to Amy Moore (colasaal@myscps.us) & Vanessa Moosavifazel (perezvz@myscps.us), they will be organizing graduation.  

  • Seniors Last Day of School – May 14, 2020 

  • Dress Code at Graduation –The graduation ceremony is one that you will never forget and it is important that all students dress in a dignified manner. All students must abide by the following dress code in order to be allowed to walk across the stage on the day of graduation. Please adhere to the following: 
    Men – Long pants and dress shoes (no flip flops, no shorts, no jeans) 

    Ladies – Dress or if wearing pants should be long pants. Keep in mind that you will be walking long distances for the processional, recessional, and receiving of your diploma. Please be sure to wear appropriate footwear. 

  • LiveStream – The graduation ceremony will be streaming live for those family members that cannot attend the graduation at Lyman High School. The link will be shared with families as our ceremony date approaches. 

  • Decoration of Cap – We will be allowing seniors to decorate their cap.  Decorations must be school appropriate. The cap design specifications can be found by clicking HERE.  Those who choose to decorate their cap with inappropriate content will be unable to participate in the graduation ceremony. All graduates will be subject to search and cap approval upon check in. 

Other Class of 2020 Events 

  • Prom 
    Date – July 16, 2020  
    Time – 7PM-11PM 
    Location – Lyman High School gymnasium and courtyard

    • Who can attend? Lyman Seniors and one approved guest. A guest may be a non-Lyman student, but the guest must be approved as in previous years. There will be an updated electronic form posted to the Senior Experience page soon. Hors d’oeuvres will be provide.

    • Tickets for prom can be requested by clicking HERE. Everyone planning to the attend the prom must complete the ticket request form. If you are planning on bringing a guest you must submit that information on the ticket request form as well. 

    • IDs Every student (Lyman and non-Lyman students) who attends the prom will be required to have a Florida Identification or SCPS ID in order to be allowed entrance.
