YMOE at Lyman
The primary emphasis of Young Men of Excellence is to empower male students and assist in providing them with the necessary skills to mature positively, both socially and academically. Students will learn about goal setting, leadership, gain exposure to possible career choices and community services opportunities. Students will also gain exposure to writing and speaking while establishing relationships through mentorships, teambuilding exercises and establishment of fraternal bonds.

Young Men of Excellence Expectations
Future inductees must be either highly recommended by an Administrator, Counselor, teacher or be a self-advocate for himself. Young Men of Excellence student expectations are a minimum, unweighted GPA of 3.0 and no disciplinary referrals. However, inductees may enter the program with a minimum GPA of 2.5 with the expectation of acquiring a 3.0 by the closure of the grading quarter. Young Men of Excellence students will actively participate in YMOE service events, as well as school functions that promote school spirit. Young Men of Excellence are expected to be leaders, from the classroom to the community.
